NOTES When damaged to a degree of > 10% it is possible to repair with primer stick. For a damage severity < 10%, window frame (1) must be coated with primer filler.

Otherwise corrosion damage may occur.

NOTES The sealing compound of the laser weld seam may be in the bonding area (2) of the windshield and must be cut back if necessary. Repair damaged areas with window adhesive if necessary.

Otherwise, the windshield cannot be positioned correctly and/or leaks may occur.

IMPORTANT Use only primer fillers approved by manufacturer. See guidelines for paint technology in the workshop portal.

IMPORTANT Only use the adhesive kit indicated in the XENTRY Portal parts information.

  1. Level remaining adhesive material on window frame (1) down to a height of approx. 1 mm using a suitable scraper and remove loose old adhesive material.

    There must be no adhesive material in area of spacer. Spacers must be in contact with painted bodyshell. Otherwise, the head-up display with augmented reality cannot be calibrated.

  2. Clean working area.
  3. Clean bonding area (2) on window frame (1) with cleaner and rub dry with dry cloth.

  4. Repair paint damage in bonding area (2) and on window frame (1) with primer stick or primer filler.

    IMPORTANT Observe the manufacturer's specifications for the curing and processing time of the primer filler.

  5. Apply primer on window frame (1) in areas with missing or damaged old adhesive material.
