	Update Vehicle Documentation (VeDoc)
1	Enter special equipment into online vehicle data card.	Model 223 up to 5/31/22 except code 498 (Japanese version) Code O59 (Retrofitting door illumination projection). Ensure that the first letter "O" for Oscar is used here.
2	Attach "Exit and warning lamp with animation projector retrofitted as per AZ82.20-P-0030S" note under field organization texts to DG 72 and DG 82.
3	Connect diagnostic device and select vehicle using vehicle identification number.	Model 223 up to 5/31/22 except code 498 (Japanese version)

4	Perform variant coding using the software calibration number (SCN).	Model 223 up to 5/31/22 except code 498 (Japanese version) Left front door control unit. Right front door control unit. Left rear door control unit. Right rear door control unit.
5	Disconnect diagnostic unit.	Model 223 up to 5/31/22 except code 498 (Japanese version)

	Remove
6	Switch off warning and exit illumination at overhead control panel.
7	Remove signal and ambient lamp (E17/3, E17/4, E17/5, E17/6).	Unclip signal and ambient lamp (E17/3, E17/4, E17/5, E17/6) starting at top right. Otherwise, the electrical connector located on the left-hand side will be damaged. Long wedge	Fig 1
8	Remove black 2-pin coupling from signal and ambient lamp (E17/3, E17/4, E17/5, E17/6).	The signal and ambient lamp (E17/3, E17/4, E17/5, E17/6) is no longer required.
	Install
9	Install exit and warning lamp with animation projector (1) in front door trim at left and right.	If the warning and exit illumination on the overhead control panel control unit is switched on, the exit and warning lamp with animation projector (1) lights up as soon as it is connected to the vehicle wiring harness. The heat sink installed on the exit and warning lamp with animation projector (1) gets very warm.	AZ82.20-P-0030-01S

10	Install exit and warning lamp with animation projector (1) in rear door trim at left and right.	If the warning and exit illumination on the overhead control panel control unit is switched on, the exit and warning lamp with animation projector (1) lights up as soon as it is connected to the vehicle wiring harness. 	Check
11	Perform function test.	The warning and exit illumination must be switched on at overhead control panel control unit.
