	Preparatory activity
1	Get in and close doors and side windows.	Doors must not be locked.
2	Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "0".	The transmitter key must be kept outside the vehicle; otherwise the passenger compartment may be blocked off during the test.
3	Open stowage compartment cover (11).
	Check
4	Press front emergency alarm system button (1).
5	Check optical alarm.	The high beams and hazard warning system must flash. Otherwise there is a malfunction. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
6	Check acoustic alarm.	The acoustic alarm must be audible via the panic alarm system (PAS) external speaker (4). Otherwise there is a malfunction. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
7	Check vehicle lock.	The central locking must lock the vehicle. Otherwise there is a malfunction. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
8	Check front air recirculation flap (14) and rear air recirculation flaps (15).	The front air recirculation flap (14) and the rear recirculated air flaps (15) must close. Otherwise there is a malfunction. Close front air recirculation flap (14) and rear air recirculation flaps (15) audibly. Make sure that closing of the front air recirculation flap (14) and the rear air recirculation flaps (15) is audible. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
9	Deactivate emergency alarm by pressing the full-duplex intercom system (speak) button (6).
10	Press rear passenger compartment emergency alarm system button (2).
11	Check optical alarm.	The high beams and hazard warning system must flash. Otherwise there is a malfunction. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
12	Check acoustic alarm.	The acoustic alarm must be audible via the panic alarm system (PAS) external speaker (4). Otherwise there is a malfunction. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
13	Check vehicle lock.	The central locking must lock the vehicle. Otherwise there is a malfunction. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
14	Check front air recirculation flap (14) and rear air recirculation flaps (15).	The front air recirculation flap (14) and the rear recirculated air flaps (15) must close. Otherwise there is a malfunction. Close front air recirculation flap (14) and rear air recirculation flaps (15) audibly. Make sure that closing of the front air recirculation flap (14) and the rear air recirculation flaps (15) is audible. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
15	Deactivate emergency alarm by pressing the full-duplex intercom system (speak) button (6).

16	Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "2" (circuit 15).
17	Press full-duplex intercom system button (hear) (7).
	Check
18	Check panic alarm system (PAS) microphone of left outside mirror (5) and panic alarm system (PAS) microphone of right outside mirror (8) and instrument panel speaker (9).	External noises must be audible via the instrument panel speaker (9). Otherwise there is a malfunction. A helper is required. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
	Preparatory activity for checking intercom system (speak)
19	Press full-duplex intercom system button (speak) (6).
	Check
20	Check hands-free system microphone (10) and outer panic alarm system (PAS) speaker (4).	Internal noises must be audible via panic alarm system (PAS) external speaker (4). Otherwise there is a malfunction. A helper is required. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
	Finishing activity
21	Close stowage compartment cover (11).
22	Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "0".
