Prepare Rear Fixed Element Of Panoramic Sliding Sunroof For Installation - AR77.21-P-0802-02MFB

Model 243, 247 

with code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof/glass roof) 

Notice  Notes on removal/installation of bonded elements of panoramic roof   AH77.21-P-0001-01A 
  1. Check rear fixed element (3) for damage.

    If damage is present,

    Replace rear fixed element (3).

  2. Install cup suction tools on outside of rear fixed element (3) and place rear fixed element (3) on suitable surface with inside pointing upward.

    IMPORTANT Helper required.

  3. Cut adhesive bead (1) at rear fixed element (3) back to a residual height of approx. 1 to 2 mm using a scraper.

    If rear fixed element (3) is reused.

  4. Fully cut back residues of spacers (2) and adhesive bead (1) present in this area.

    If rear fixed element (3) is reused.

  5. Remove cutting residues using a wet and dry vacuum cleaner.

    If rear fixed element (3) is reused.

  6. Apply cleaner to bonding surfaces on inside of rear fixed element (3) using part of cleaning cloth and wipe dry with other part of cleaning cloth.

    IMPORTANT The cleaner is included in the repair kit.

    Allow cleaner to dry completely.

  7. Apply primer uniformly to all bonding surfaces on inside of rear fixed element (3) and allow to fully dry.

    NOTES Do not apply primer to uncoated field.

    This primer layer remains visible after installation.

    IMPORTANT If rear fixed element (3) is reused, only the bonding surfaces without residual adhesive material must be coated with primer.

    IMPORTANT The primer is included in the repair kit.

  8. Replace spacers (2).
