Overview

General 

The soft top control hydraulic unit is located in the trunk in the direction of travel on the right side behind the trim.

It consists of the soft top control hydraulic unit electric motor, soft top control hydraulic unit temperature sensor and electromagnetic valves.

Function 

The soft top control hydraulic unit electric motor actuates the hydraulic pump. It will, if necessary, be actuated by the rear control unit.

The rear control unit actuates the corresponding electromagnetic valves, at which point the individual hydraulic cylinders of the soft top are pressurized to move in or out.

Manually depressurize hydraulic system 

The emergency lever installed on the valve block of the soft top control hydraulic unit is opened up prior to a manual soft top emergency actuation using an Allen wrench (included in the vehicle tool kit) (approx. 1 turn). The soft top can then be manually moved out of the soft top compartment.

It is not possible to replace the soft top control hydraulic unit electric motor, the temperature sensor or the electromagnetic valves in the soft top control hydraulic unit.
