Remove/Install Front Door Outer Handle - AR72.10-P-2400MFA

MODIFICATION NOTES

19.07.2023 Pull outer door handle (3) out of bearing bracket (6) toward rear, disconnect electrical connector (7) and remove door handle (3), added. Operation step 5.1

REMOVING Remove     
1 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m). Model 118, 177, 243, 247
with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO)
with code 896 (Vehicle access and authorization via smartphone)
 
2 Remove stop plug (1).    
3 Loosen screw (2). IMPORTANT Do not remove screw (2) completely.  
4.1 Pull door handle (3) up to end stop and remove lock cylinder (4). When removing door handle (3) from the driver's door.
IMPORTANT When removing lock cylinder (4), the door handle (3) should must arrest in the pulled position.
If the door handle (3) does not engage,

re-insert lock cylinder (4) with pulled door handle (3) and release door handle (3). Then repeat operation step.
 
4.2 Pull door handle (3) up to end stop and remove cover (5). When removing door handle (3) from the front passenger door.
IMPORTANT When removing cover (5), the door handle (3) should must arrest in the pulled position.
If the door handle (3) does not engage,

re-insert cover (5) with pulled door handle (3) and release door handle (3). Then repeat operation step.
 
5.1 Pull outer door handle (3) out of bearing bracket (6) toward rear, disconnect electrical connector (7) and remove door handle (3). Model 243
with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO)
 
5.2 Guide door handle (3) out of the bearing bracket (6) at the rear and pull out at the front. Model 118, 177, 243, 247

INSTALLING Install     
6 Insert door handle (3) into bearing bracket (6) at the rear and install at the front. IMPORTANT Ensure correct seating of the door handle (3) in the bearing bracket (6).  
7.1 Install lock cylinder (4). When installing the door handle (3) in the driver's door.
IMPORTANT The catch of the door handle (3) is released when inserting the cover (5).
 
7.2 Install cover (5). When installing the door handle (3) in the front passenger door.
IMPORTANT The catch of the door handle (3) is released when inserting the cover (5).
 
8 Tighten screw (2) fully.    
9 Install stop plug (1).
