Engine 282
Replace connecting rod bolts (2) after every use.
Otherwise, there is a danger of engine damage.
Do not use an impact wrench or compressed air tool to screw in the connecting rod bolts (2).
Otherwise the threaded holes may be damaged.
- Engine 260
Measure length of connecting rod bolts (2).
If the dimension of the connecting rod bolts (2) exceeds 38.4 mm,
Install new connecting rod bolts (2).
- Wet thread and bolt head contact surfaces of the connecting rod bolts (2) with engine oil.
- Screw in connecting rod bolts (2) and tighten slightly by hand.
- Tighten connecting rod bolts (2) with the
tightening angle with magnet Engine 133

Engine 274
Engine 282
Observe tightening instructions.
Engine damage will occur otherwise.
If no angle tightener is available, continue turning connecting rod bolts (2) with a socket wrench and breaker bar in one move by the specified angle. To exclude an angular error, do not use a bending rod torque wrench when tightening.
