| 2 | Turn engine at center bolt of crankshaft in direction of engine rotation to top dead center (ignition TDC) of cylinder 1. | ||

| 4 | Remove screws (2s) and remove oil deflector (2). | ||
| 5 | Remove screws (3s) and cover (3). | ||
| 6 | Remove screws (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d) and remove balance shaft housing (1). | ||

| 7 | Check new sealing rings of screws (1a, 1c) for damage. | Engine damage can occur otherwise. If damage is identified. Install new sealing rings. |

| 8 | Check whether sealing rings lie correctly in groove at screw shank of screws (1a, 1c). | ||

| 9 | Install balance shaft housing (1) in assembly position at crankcase. | Balance shaft housing (1) must otherwise be replaced. |

| 10 | Install balance shaft housing (1) at crankcase and slightly tighten new screws (1b, 1d) by hand. | ||
