- Deburr edge of mounting hole for radial shaft sealing ring (5) on timing case cover and clean mounting hole with assembly cleaner.
Circumference and sealing lip of radial shaft sealing ring (5) as well as mating surface on vibration damper/belt pulley (8) must be free of oil and grease.
- Place radial shaft sealing ring (5) on timing case cover and align at right angles to the timing case cover.
- Indent radial shaft sealing ring (5) with
drift flush in timing case cover.
- Check installation location of the radial shaft sealing ring (5) relative to the crankshaft journal (1).
The radial shaft sealing ring (5) must stand at right angles to the crankshaft journal (1). Leaks can occur otherwise.
