Performing Function Test Of Light Signals At Trailer Coupling Socket - AN31.19-P-8100-06MFA

  1. Connect light strip (1) or equivalent test equipment to trailer socket.
  2. Switch on left turn signal indicator, right turn signal indicator and hazard warning system one after the other and check for proper operation.
  3. Simulate failure of the left or right direction indicator lamp.

    IMPORTANT The flashing frequency of the indicator lamps in the instrument cluster must double.

  4. Switch on standing lights and check for proper operation.
  5. Switch on backup lamps and check for proper operation.
  6. Press brake pedal and check brake lamps for proper operation.
  7. Switch on rear fog lamp and check for proper operation.

    IMPORTANT The rear fog lamp on the vehicle must not light up.

  8. Simulate failure of rear fog lamp on trailer.

    IMPORTANT The rear fog lamp on the vehicle must light up.

  9. Check constant voltage connection (terminal 30) at trailer socket.
  10. Disconnect light strip (1) or equivalent test equipment from trailer socket.
