Use

The trailer hitch may be used only for pulling trailers with corresponding coupling head or for attaching the tow rope at crossmember, e.g. when the towing eye is removed and the trailer hitch is installed.

Towing

The tow rope must be fastened to the crossmember in such a way as to prevent damaging the wiring harness to the trailer socket.

Change or straighten

Changes to vehicle-specific fastening parts and the trailer coupling are not permitted. This applies in particular to bending, straightening, welding and mechanical processing.

Accident

If the trailer hitch is damaged or deformed due to an accident, bottoming or driving against a solid object, the complete mechanical device including all attaching parts must be replaced.

For trailer hitches with a detachable ball socket, the ball socket must only be replaced if it was mounted at the time of the accident.
