Fill Adblue (R) Tank - Perform External Filling - AP49.20-P-0100-02A

WARNING Risk of burn injuries and scalding  when working at AdBlue lines and the components attached to them. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes when handling AdBlue. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing AdBlue Pour AdBlue into suitable containers only. Wait until the pressure is released before starting any work on the exhaust aftertreatment system. External fill, shown on model 177.0 with engine 608.9 with code U79 (BlueTEC SCR generation 3 diesel exhaust gas cleaning)

  1. Open fuel filler flap.
  2. Open cap on filler neck of AdBlue® tank (8).
  3. Open 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6) and screw one-way filling hose (4) with canister connection (4a) onto 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6).
  4. Screw one-way filling hose (4) with filler neck connection (4b) onto filler neck of AdBlue® tank (8).
  5. Lift 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6) as per picture and drain into AdBlue® tank.

    When the 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6) no longer drains,

    the AdBlue® tank is then completely filled. Continue with operation step 6.

    When 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6) is completely drained,

    lower 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6) below level of filler neck of AdBlue® tank (8). Unscrew 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6) at canister connection (4a) of one-way filling hose (4) and dispose of it.

    Tightly screw a new 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6) to canister connection (4a) of one-way filling hose (4) and repeat operation step  5.

  6. Lower 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6) below level of filler neck of AdBlue® tank (8).
  7. Carefully unscrew filler neck connection (4b) from filler neck of AdBlue® tank (8) and lift above level of 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6). This is so that the AdBlue® can flow out of the one-way filling hose (4) back into the 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6).
  8. Unscrew canister connection (4a) from 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6) and seal 10 L AdBlue® refill canister (6).
  9. Dispose of one-way filling hose (4).
  10. Seal cap of filler neck of AdBlue® tank (8).
  11. Close fuel filler flap.
