Remove/Install Engine Oil Sensor - AR18.40-P-5112MFG

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove coolant lines of the coolant pump. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install upper engine cover after the leak test. AR20.10-P-1271MFG
2 Release and disconnect electrical connector (1).    
3 Remove engine oil pressure and temperature sensor (B149/1) and capture escaping engine oil with a rag.    
  Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths   AH00.00-P-0015-01CW
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oil sensor to crankcase *BA07.04-P-1010-01R 
    SPECIAL TOOL Tool kit Fig 2
4 Seal exposed opening with suitable stop plug. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
5 Check sealing ring of the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor (B149/1) for damage. If damage is identified,

replace engine oil pressure and temperature sensor (B149/1).
 
6 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
7 Check engine oil level and correct if necessary.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP18.00-P-1812AKI 
8 Read out and delete fault memory.    
REFER TO DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06MFA
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
9 Perform engine test run and check engine in the area of the engine oil pressure and temperature sensor (B149/1) for leak tightness.    
10 Install upper engine cover.
