Check Engine Oil Pressure - AR18.00-P-1250MFC

WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

INSPECT Check     
1 Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature (approx. 80°C).    
2 Check engine oil temperature with the vehicle diagnosis system.    
REFER TO DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   IMPORTANT The engine oil temperature must be approx. 100°C. AD00.00-P-2000-06MFA
3 Check oil level of the engine approx. 5 min after switching off the engine at operating temperature and correct if necessary.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   NOTES
The vehicle must be horizontal and standing on the wheel and tire assemblies.
False measurements can occur otherwise.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
4 Remove oil filter element (1).    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP18.00-P-0101MFA 
5 Screw in oil filter cover with tester cap (05). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Threaded cap to oil filter housing *BA18.20-P-1001-01I 
    SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 1
6 Connect pressure line (4) of the oil pressure gauge (03) to the tester cap (05). SPECIAL TOOL Tester Fig 2
HIGH PRESSURE TEST Measure using pointer device     
7 Start engine and measure oil pressure. NOTES
Position oil pressure gauge (03) so that it is not caught by the poly-V-belt when starting the engine.
Damage can occur otherwise to the oil pressure gauge (03) and to the poly-V belt.
IMPORTANT Measure oil pressure at the engine operating temperature.
IMPORTANT When the throttle is opened, the oil pressure must rise without any delay.
HELD TESTER Oil pressure at operating temperature 90°C

8 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
9 Check oil level of the engine approx. 5 min after switching off the engine at operating temperature and correct if necessary.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   NOTES
The vehicle must be horizontal and standing on the wheel and tire assemblies.
False measurements can occur otherwise.

10 Carry out an engine test run; check engine for leak tightness while doing so.
