Prepare Window For Installation - AR67.10-P-1000-03MFA

NOTES

The bonding area on the windshield (1) must be absolutely free of dust and grease.

Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease when installing the window.

  1. Check windshield (1) or rear window for scratches and damage.

    If the windshield (1) or rear window is used again.

    If there is a problem,

    replace windshield (1) or rear window.

  2. Coat over display window (2) for the vehicle identification number on the inside of the windshield (1) with the primer contained in the repair kit.

    If a new windshield (1) is installed and the display window (2) is not required.

    IMPORTANT

    Do not coat over the adjustment marks for the windshield wiper (3).

  3. Fasten electrical connectors to the rear window (4) with fabric tape.

    If electrical connectors are installed.

  4. Remove remaining adhesive material from front or rear window (4) with a suitable scraper up to a height of approx. 2 mm and remove loose remaining adhesive material.

    If the windshield or rear window (4) is used again.

    NOTES

    The bonding area on the rear window (4) must be absolutely free of dust and grease.

    Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease when installing the window.

  5. Repair damaged primer coat on the windshield or rear window (4) with the primer contained in the repair kit.

    If the windshield or rear window (4) is used again. NOTES The primer must flash off for at least 10 min.

    Otherwise the adhesive effect of the adhesive material will be impaired.

  6. Apply cleaner (activator) contained in the repair kit to the bonding area on the windshield or rear window (4) and rub with a dry cloth.

    If new windshield or rear window (4) is installed.

  7. Coat bonding area on the windshield or rear window (4) with the primer contained in the repair kit.

    If new windshield or rear window (4) is installed.

    NOTES The primer must flash off for at least 10 min.

    Otherwise the adhesive effect of the adhesive material will be impaired.
