Remove/Install Tie Rod Ball Joint - AR46.40-P-0211MFA

Notice  Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process   AH00.00-P-0020-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove left or right front wheel and tire assembly.   AR40.10-P-1102MFA
2 Counterhold tie rod joint (1) and release counternut (5) at tie rod (6). INSTALLATION NOTES Always counterhold tie rod (6).
The tie rod (6) will otherwise be damaged.
IMPORTANT Once released, do not turn counternut (5) on tie rod (6) any more.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Jam nut, tie rod *BA46.40-P-1002-01Q 
3 Remove nut (2) and remove tie rod joint (1) from steering knuckle (3).   AR46.40-P-0200-02MFA 
    NOTES Always counterhold the ball head when removing the nut (2) and do not use an impact wrench.
Otherwise, the ball head or steering knuckle (3) will be damaged.
NOTES Do not damage boot (4) when prying off. Otherwise, the tie rod joint (1) will need to be replaced.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, tie rod to steering knuckle *BA46.40-P-1001-01Q 
    SPECIAL TOOL Puller Fig 2
    SPECIAL TOOL Press Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL Repair spindle Fig 3
4 Remove tie rod joint (1) from tie rod (6).    
5 Install in the reverse order.    
MEASURING Measure     
6 Perform wheel alignment measurement.   AR40.20-P-0200MFA
