Remove/Install Stationary Heater Fuel Metering Pump - AR83.70-P-5654MFA

DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
2 Release rear right underfloor paneling until the stationary heater fuel pump (Y23) is accessible.   AR61.30-P-1001MFA
3 Release and disconnect electrical connector (1) from stationary heater fuel pump (Y23).    
4 Clamp off fuel hoses (2) with clamps. SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 1
5 Detach fuel hoses (2) from stationary heater fuel pump (Y23). IMPORTANT Collect fuel which runs out in a suitable container.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace snap clamps.
Make sure that fuel hoses (2) are securely seated and not leaking.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Pliers for click clamps Fig 2
6 Unscrew nut (3).    
7 Remove stationary heater fuel pump (Y23) with bracket (4). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Observe direction of installation of stationary heater fuel pump (Y23).  
8 Remove stationary heater fuel pump (Y23) from bracket (4). When replacing the stationary heater fuel pump (Y23).  
9 Install in the reverse order.
