Risk of explosion

Forming gas with a hydrogen content of more than 5% is extremely combustible and in combination with air it can form an explosive mixture.

Risk of injury

There is a risk of injury when working on pressurized parts.

Risk of suffocation

A high concentration level of forming gas can cause suffocation.

Safety precautions and rules of conduct

Inhalation: After inhaling a high concentration level of forming gas, the affected person should be taken out of enclosed premises straight away, and kept calm and warm.

If unconscious: Position and transport in recovery position. Consult a physician.

If breathing is arrested: Perform artificial respiration.
