Drain/Pour In Coolant - AR20.00-P-1142MFC

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

  Remove     
1 Remove lower engine compartment lining. Engine 260 in model 118, 177, 247 with code M016 (Uprated engine) AR61.20-P-1105MFR

  Drain off     
2 Slowly open cap, release overpressure and then unscrew from coolant expansion reservoir.    
3 Insert suitable hose on drain fitting (3) at bottom right on engine cooling system cooler.    
4 Open drain screw (4) on engine cooling system cooler and drain off the coolant in a suitable container. NOTES
Open drain screw (4) until coolant starts to drain off.
Otherwise the drain screw (4) and engine cooling system cooler might get damaged.
IMPORTANT Observe regulations for disposal of coolant.
 
5 Close drain screw (4) at engine cooling system cooler and detach drain hose.    
  Pour in     
6 Pour in coolant and bleed engine cooling system.   AR20.00-P-1142-04A 
  Notes on coolant level IMPORTANT Work procedure must be complied with when filling cooling system.
IMPORTANT Re-use clean coolant.

INSPECT Check     
7 Check engine cooling system for leak tightness.   AR20.00-P-1010MFD 
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
8 Perform engine test run and check engine cooling system for proper operation and leak tightness.    
INSTALLING Install     
9 Install lower engine compartment lining. Engine 260 in model 118, 177, 247 with code M016 (Uprated engine) AR61.20-P-1105MFR
