Remove

Make color markings to indicate position of propeller shaft (1) relative to output flange (2a) of power take-off or relative to drive flange (2b) of rear axle differential and to flex disk (3).
Unscrew bolts (A₁ to A₆ ) from output flange (2a) and bolts (B) from drive flange (2b).

Use counterholder.

Helper required.

Release pilot bushings of flexible coupling (3) using a drift (shop-made tool), as shown, from drive flange (2b) of rear axle differential.
If necessary.

Pull propeller shaft (1) off output flange (2a) or drive flange (2b).
Pull the propeller shaft (1) off the drive flange (2b) carefully.

The pilot bushing (10) in the propeller shaft (1) will otherwise be damaged.

Install
Attach propeller shaft (1) to output flange (2a) or drive flange (2b).
Align the color markings with each other.

Vibrations will otherwise occur.

Attach the propeller shaft (1) to the drive flange (2b) carefully.

The pilot bushing (10) in the propeller shaft (1) will otherwise be damaged.
Tighten screws/bolts (B) at drive flange (2b) .
Replace the bolts (B).

Use counterholder.

Helper required.
Loosely screw in bolts (A₁ to A₆ ) at output flange (2a).
Replace the bolts (A₁ to A₆ ).
Turn color marking (arrow) upward.
Tighten screw/bolt (A₁ ) to specified torque (1st stage) .
Tighten screw/bolt (A₂ ) to specified torque (2nd stage) .

Use counterholder.

Helper required.
Tighten screws/bolts (A₃ , A₄ , A₁ , A₅ , A₆ ) in stated sequence to specified torque (2nd stage) .

Use counterholder.

Helper required.
Tighten screw/bolt (A₂ ) to specified tightening angle (3rd stage) .

Use counterholder.

Helper required.
Tighten screws/bolts (A₃ , A₄ , A₁ , A₅ , A₆ ) in stated sequence to specified tightening angle (3rd stage) .

Use counterholder.

Helper required.
