Upper Front Longitudinal Member Separation - Ar62.20-P-1286-01MFX

Model 247.6/7 

The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 247.6. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Expose spot welds on upper front longitudinal member (1) and cut them out (areas A).

2. Heat upper front longitudinal member (1) in crosshatched areas.

   Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

3. Bend open sheet metal lug in direction of arrow.
4. Remove upper front longitudinal member (1).

5. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

6. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
7. Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.

   Do not coat bonding surface with zinc dust paint (area B). Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

   Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.
