Transmission Insulator and Retainer: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
    2. NOTE: The transmission insulator and retainer studs may come out of the insulator while removing the nuts. Install new transmission insulator and retainer studs if the studs come out of the insulator.

  2. Remove the transmission insulator and retainer crossmember nuts and the transmission insulator and retainer extension housing bolts.
  3. Raise the transmission upward, off the transmission insulator and remove the insulator.
