Crankshaft Rear Seal with Retainer Plate: Removal

Manual transmission equipped vehicles

Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN .
Automatic transmission equipped vehicles
Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN .
Using the Engine Support Bar, Support Hook and Engine Support Bracket, align the engine support insulator studs and lower the engine.

Remove the flexplate. For additional information, refer to FLEXPLATE .
Remove the rear engine cover.
All vehicles
Using the Slide Hammer and the Crankshaft Rear Oil Slinger Remover, remove and discard the crankshaft oil slinger.

Using the Slide Hammer and the Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Remover, remove and discard the crankshaft rear seal.

Remove the 6 bolts and the crankshaft rear seal retainer plate.
