System Warning Messages
The system warning messages alert the operator to possible problems or malfunctions in the vehicle operating systems. The message center displays the last selected feature if there are no additional warning messages. Once a warning message has been displayed, the message must be acknowledged to allow full functionality of the message center. Press the select/reset button (base instrument cluster [IC]) or RESET button (message center cluster) to acknowledge and clear the warning message.
The warning messages are divided into 3 basic categories:
- Cannot be cleared until the condition is corrected.
- Reappears 10 minutes after pressing the select/reset button.
- Reappears if the condition clears then reoccurs within the same ignition ON-OFF cycle.
The warning messages that cannot be reset are:
- DRIVER FRONT DOOR AJAR
- PASSENGER DOOR AJAR
- REAR LEFT DOOR AJAR
- REAR RIGHT DOOR AJAR
The warning messages that reoccur after 10 minutes are:
- XXX MILES/KM TO E FUEL LEVEL LOW
When a fault condition exists, the warning messages that are displayed whenever the ignition switch is turned from the OFF position to the ON position are:
- CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM
- CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM
- BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW
- PARK BRAKE ENGAGED
- TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT (late build)
- TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR FAULT (late build)
- LOW TIRE PRESSURE (late build)
- CHECK AIR FILTER
- WIRING FAULT ON TRAILER
- TRAILER BRAKE MODULE FAULT
- TRAILER DISCONNECTED
- DRAIN WATER SEPARATOR
- ENGINE WARMING PLEASE WAIT XX (late build diesel only)
- ENGINE WARM OK TO DRIVE (late build diesel only)
- STOP SAFELY NOW (late build diesel only)
- OIL CHANGE REQUIRED (late build)
- ENGINE OIL CHANGE SOON (late build)
The message center displays the following warning messages to indicate the status of the diesel engine idle shutdown mode.
- ENGINE TURNS OFF IN XX (green state emissions, late build diesel only)
- ENGINE TURNED OFF (green state emissions, late build diesel only)
The message center displays the following warning messages to indicate the status of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) system.
- DRIVE TO CLEAN EXHAUST SYSTEM (late build diesel only)
- CLEANING EXHAUST FILTER (late build diesel only)
- EXHAUST FILTER DRIVE COMPLETE (late build diesel only)
- REDUCED ENGINE POWER (late build diesel only)
The message center displays warning messages that indicate a system state during repair procedures related to the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) (late build).
The displayed messages are as follows:
- TRAIN LEFT FRONT TIRE
- TRAIN RIGHT FRONT TIRE
- TRAIN RIGHT REAR TIRE
- TRAIN INNER RGT REAR TIRE
- TRAIN LEFT REAR TIRE
- TRAIN INNER LEFT REAR TIRE
- TRAIN SPARE TIRE
- TRAINING COMPLETE
- TIRES NOT TRAINED-REPEAT
The message center displays warning messages that indicate a system state during functions related to the compass.
The displayed messages are as follows:
- ZONE XX RESET = CHANGE
- RESET FOR CALIBRATION
- CIRCLE SLOWLY TO CALIBRATE
- CALIBRATION COMPLETED
