WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Ford Pickup, 2009 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2009 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2009 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- J1 CHECK THE CLOCKWISE/COUNTERCLOCKWISE RELAY CIRCUITS FOR VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Clockwise Relay C1129
- Disconnect: Counterclockwise Relay C1173
- Measure the voltage between clockwise motor relay C1129-87, circuit SBB26 (YE/RD), harness side and ground.
- Measure the voltage between counterclockwise motor relay C1173-87, circuit SBB48 (VT/RD), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage 9 volts or greater?
- YES : Go to J2.
- NO : INSPECT BJB fuse 26 (30A) for an open. If OK, REPAIR circuit SBB26 (YE/RD) for an open. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- J2 CHECK THE CLOCKWISE/COUNTERCLOCKWISE RELAY GROUND CIRCUITS
- Measure the resistance between clockwise motor relay C1129-87a, circuit GD122 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Measure the resistance between counterclockwise motor relay C1173-87a, circuit GD122 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
- YES : Go to J3.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- J3 CHECK CIRCUIT CCF07 (BN/GN) AND CIRCUIT CCF08 (GY/OG) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Clockwise Motor Relay C1129
- Disconnect: Counterclockwise Motor Relay C1173
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the resistance between transfer case C350b-1, harness side and counterclockwise motor relay C1173-30, circuit CCF08 (GY/OG), harness side.
- Measure the resistance between transfer case C350b-2, harness side and clockwise motor relay C1129-30, circuit CCF07 (BN/GN), harness side.
- Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
- YES : Go to J4.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- J4 CHECK THE RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT CCF27 (GY) AND CIRCUIT CCF28 (VT/GY) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: 4X4 Control Module C281b
- Measure the resistance between the 4X4 control module C281b-6, harness side and counterclockwise motor relay C1173-86, circuit CCF27 (GY).
- Measure the resistance between 4X4 control module C281b-5, harness side and counterclockwise motor relay C1129-86, circuit CCF28 (VT/GY).
- Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
