Axle - F-250, F-350: Installation

  1. Inspect the pivot bushing for wear or damage. Install a new bushing as necessary.
    2. CAUTION: Tighten the axle pivot nut with the suspension at curb height or damage to the bushing may occur.
  2. Position the front axle into the pivot bracket, install the pivot bolt and nut until snug.
  3. Install the radius arm. For additional information, refer to Radius Arm - F-250, F-350 .
  4. Install the wheel spindle. For additional information, refer to Wheel Spindle - F-250, F-350 .
  5. With the vehicle at curb height, tighten the axle pivot nut to 175 Nm (129 lb-ft).
  6. Check and, if necessary, align the front end. For additional information, refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
