Purpose And Scope

The purpose of this Recommended Practice (RP) is to help equipment users:

identify tire balance and runout markings (also referred to as uniformity markings)
determine if tires should be mounted with these markings aligned to specific locations on the rim

This RP covers medium-duty commercial truck tires and rims used in North America. Medium-duty tires are those commonly used on Class 7-8 on-highway commercial vehicles.
