Routing diagram, shown on model 118.3
The following work procedure is shown on a left-hand drive vehicle, on right-hand drive vehicles installation is identical but mirror inverted.
- Place electrical wiring harness for illuminated door sill molding (1) into front passenger footwell.
- Route black 18-pin contact socket (1.3) to transmission tunnel.
The black 18-pin contact socket (1.3) will be connected to the illuminated door sill moldings control unit at a later stage.
- Route brown line (BN) to front right footwell ground point (W15).
- Connect brown line (BN) to front right footwell ground point (W15)
.
- Route red line (RD) to vehicle interior fuse and relay module (F152/4).
- Route twisted brown line (BN) and brown/red line (BN/RD) to central control unit (N10).
- Route right branch-off line (1.6) to right longitudinal member.
Route right branch-off line (1.6) so that the black 2-pin plug (1.2) can be connected to the front right illuminated door sill molding at a later stage.
Contact cavity assignment:
Contact cavity 1 = Brown line
Contact cavity 2 = Yellow line
- Route left branch-off line (1.5) into driver footwell via the transmission tunnel.
- Install red line (RD) into slot "5" (arrow) of fuse holder "M4A" of vehicle interior fuse and relay module (F152/4).
Slot "5" (arrow) and fuse holder "M4A" of the vehicle interior fuse and relay module (F152/4) are labeled.
- Remove white 20-pin contact socket (8) from central control unit (N10).
- Remove black 20-pin connector socket insert (8.1) from white 20-pin contact socket (8).
- Install twisted brown line (BN) and brown/red line (BN/RD) into black 20-pin connector socket insert (8.1).
Contact cavity assignment:
Contact cavity 8 = brown line (BN)
Contact cavity 18 = brown/red line (BN/RD)
- Install black 20-pin connector socket insert (8.1) into white 20-pin contact socket (8).
- Attach white 20-pin contact socket (8) to central control unit (N 10).
- Insert a fuse with a fuse rating of 5 A into slot (arrow A) of vehicle interior fuse and relay module (F152/4).
- Route left branch-off line (1.5) to left longitudinal member.
Route left branch-off line (1.5) so that the black 2-pin plug (1.1) can be connected to the front left illuminated door sill molding at a later stage.
Contact cavity assignment:
Contact cavity 1 = Brown line
Contact cavity 2 = Green line
- Fix wiring harness for illuminated door sill molding in place over entire length using cable ties.
