Remove/Install Climate Control Heat Exchanger - AR83.25-P-1100MFA

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove heat shield (2) for firewall. Model 118, 177, 247

    Model 118, 177, 247 with engine 282 AR49.10-P-0001MFD

2 Provide a suitable container to collect the coolant.    
3 Release and disconnect coolant hoses (3), and seal exposed connections with suitable protective covers. IMPORTANT Collect escaping coolant. AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ

4 Remove crossmember under instrument panel. Model 243 AR68.10-P-1120EQA

5 Push floor covering in working area to one side.    
6 Remove screw (5) and remove bracket (6).    
7 Remove screw (7) and remove thrust piece (8).    
8 Provide a suitable container to collect the coolant.    
9 Remove heat exchanger (1) with piping from air conditioner housing (9). IMPORTANT Collect escaping coolant.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Ensure that seal (4) is seated correctly.
 
10 Install in the reverse order.    
  Concluding tasks     
11 Bleed engine cooling system, check for leak tightness and correct coolant level. Model 243 with engine 780 AR20.00-P-1151EQA
    Model 118, 177, 247.7 with engine 139 AR20.00-P-1010MFG
    Model 118, 177, 247 with engine 260, 282 AR20.00-P-1010MFD
    Model 118, 177, 247 with engine 608, 654 AR20.00-P-1010MFE
12 Check heating for proper operation.
