Potential risks
Risk of explosion
caused by heating while fueling.
Risk of poisoning
The gases generated during the combustion in the heater present a health hazard and can trigger symptoms of poisoning that could lead to unconsciousness if the heater is operated in closed rooms, e.g. workshops or garages.
Risk of burn injuries
There is an increased risk of burn injuries at the heater housing and exhaust gas outlet during or following operation of the heater.
Safety instructions/precautions
- Never start the engine with heater booster in closed rooms.
- The stationary or auxiliary heater must not be started or operated at fueling stations or in the vicinity of tank systems because of the risk of explosion caused by fuel vapors.
- For function testing or emission level testing, the heater may only be started in rooms if these are equipped with a suitable exhaust extraction system for the engine and the heater.
- When working on the heater, allow it to cool down or wear protective gloves.
