Rubber joint bearing distorted or worn out 

Rubber joint bearing porous or cracked 

1. Check the rubber joint bearing.

   On some shock absorbers, it is also possible to replace only the rubber joint bearing.

   If rubber joint bearing is distorted, worn out, porous or cracked

   ↓

   Replace the shock absorber or the rubber joint bearing.

   Slight paint wear on reservoir tube (1) (shock absorber is OK) 

   Severe paint wear on reservoir tube (1) (shock absorber is not OK) 

2. Visually inspect protective tube (2).

   If the fastening points are out of alignment, the protective tube (2) can rub against the reservoir tube (1) of the shock absorber and the shock absorber is under stress.

   Slight paint abrasion is safe.

   The vehicle must be at the vehicle level when screwing on firmly the bolted connection of the shock absorber.

   With severe paint scraping

   ↓

   Replace the shock absorber.
