Remove/Install Poly-V Belt - Ar13.22-D-1202TSC

WARNING Risk of injury  . Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
  Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove lower engine compartment paneling If installed. AR61.20-D-1105TS
2 Turn clamping device (2) on serration (3) counterclockwise (arrow) and slacken poly-V- belt (1). INSTALLATION NOTES : After assembly of the poly-V belt (1) the clamping device (2) must be pushed back on the serration (3) with torque clockwise. Noises and damage on the belt drive can occur otherwise.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Pretension for poly-V belts on multi-tooth clamping device *BA13.25-N-1003-01EG 
3 Bring bores (4) to cover and engage clamping device (2) with pin.    
REFER TO SHOP-MADE TOOLS Pin for locking poly-V belt tensioning device   WF58.50-S-1325-02S
4 Remove poly-V-belt (1). INSTALLATION NOTES :
Do not use belt wax or similar products. This causes malfunctions.
IMPORTANT Relieve the clamping device (2) for any further work.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Observe routing diagram of poly-V belt (1).
 
INSPECT Check     
5 Check belt pulley profiles, guide pulleys, and clamping device (2) for damage and contamination. If damage to a component part is detected,

Replace defective component.
 
6 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
7 Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
