Outputs Interface, PSM, Function - GF54.21-D-3002TSA
Model 907
with code ED5 (Parameterisable special module)
Outputs
Outputs can also be used as inputs.
Some outputs transmit the signals through pulse width modulation (PWM).
The discrete multifunction outputs "01" to "05" and "08" to "14" as well as "16" to "20" can also be used as inputs.
The configuration can be adjusted by means of diagnosis. If an output is to be used as an input, then the output must be configured as an input.
If it is configured as an output, feeding a voltage can cause unwanted overload shutdown of the output.
Flashability of all outputs
The outputs of multifunction outputs "01" to "14" and multifunction outputs "16" to "20" can flash on and off.
The "ON time" and the cycle duration can each be set to a resolution of 10 ms. The minimum "ON time" is 50 ms, the maximum flasher frequency is 10 Hz.
Function assignment of outputs
The assignment of the functions to the individual outputs is performed via a diagnostic system.
Short-circuit and overload detection
In the event of a short circuit or overload, multifunction outputs "01" to "14" and multifunction outputs "16" to "20" switch off permanently if attempts to switch on again were unsuccessful.
The number of switch-on attempts must be parameterized depending on the application.
Asymmetrical half-bridge 5 A - multifunction outputs "03" and "20"
Alternative function of outputs
Multifunction outputs "03" and "20" can be operated as a high-side outputs or low-side outputs.
Wiring of multifunction outputs "03" and "20"
Function assignment of outputs
Multifunction outputs "03" and "20" can be used together as a full bridge. The configuration can be made using XENTRY Diagnosis.
Short-circuit and overload detection
Multifunction outputs "03" and "20" have short-circuit and overload detection.
A short circuit is limited to approx. 65 to 130 A by the internal "smart FET transistor". The short circuit and overload shutoff is performed by evaluating current and voltage.
Above 1.2x the rated current, the shutoff time of the overload shutoff ("HAL functionality") is reduced as the current increases. A characteristic curve (e.g. corresponding to a fuse) is not evaluated. If the "smart-FET transistor" is overloaded thermally or through excessively high current, the output current can be limited. Or the output is pulsed up to final shutoff.
Rated load
The rated load of the power outputs is 5 A, ohmic.
The power outputs are not suitable to operate a load consisting of an LED and series resistor.
"Open load detection"
Multifunction outputs "03" and "20" have an "Open load detection" in activated state through load current measurement. The "Open load threshold" is 10 to 15 % of the rated output current.
