INSPECT Check     
1 Check whether vehicle is affected by measure. IMPORTANT For authorized Mercedes Benz service partners, only the entry in the Extended VEGA Application (EVA) system, in the "Current" tab is decisive. An additional test of the affected vehicles in the workshop information system (WIS) or vehicle list is thereby not necessary.  
  Update SCN coding     
2 Enter special equipment into online vehicle data card. IMPORTANT Designation of affected special equipment code L94 (Omission of parking lights).
IMPORTANT Attach "Code L94 (Omission of parking lights) added as per SM54.21.D.0236SG" note under field organization texts to KG54.
 
3 Connect diagnostic system.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   IMPORTANT Always use the latest XENTRY Diagnosis software release.
IMPORTANT It is absolutely essential to precisely follow the operation steps as described in the vehicle diagnosis system.

4 Connect charging equipment.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Maintaining on board electrical system voltage when performing test and diagnosis work on vehicle   AR54.10-D-1127TS
    NOTES
During the entire work procedure a sufficiently large voltage supply must be provided for the vehicle's on board electrical system.
Otherwise any undervoltage that occurs may damage the control units.
IMPORTANT Follow the operating instructions for the charger.
IMPORTANT Use the charger to ensure that an adequate power supply (min. 12.5 V) is provided for the on board electrical system battery.
 
5 Perform SCN coding in the signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM). IMPORTANT Under the menu item "Adaptations → Control units update", follow the instructions for "Updating SCN coding".
IMPORTANT It is absolutely essential to precisely follow the operation steps as described in the vehicle diagnosis system.
 
6 Disconnect diagnostic system.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00.D-2000.06TS
7 Remove charger from vehicle.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR54.10-D-1127TS
8 Insert supplement/supplementary booklet into operator's manual or hand over to customer if no longer available.
