General
The reversing light lights up the roadway behind the vehicle when reversing.
Function requirement
- Circuit 15 ON (vehicles with manual transmission or electric vehicles)
- Engine running (vehicles with automatic transmission).
Function
When reverse gear or drive range "R" is engaged, the reversing light is switched on.
The exterior lighting control unit (dependent on vehicle either the central signal acquisition and actuation module or the front signal acquisition and actuation module) actuates the reversing light itself or requests its actuation. This takes place depending on the network architecture of the vehicle.
Vehicles with trailer hitch
During trailer operation, the reversing lights on the trailer are also switched on. The exterior lighting control unit requests actuation of the reversing light on the trailer. The trailer recognition control unit implements this request.
