Remove/Install Wheel Arch Liner On Front Fender - AR88.80-P-0005ME

REMOVING Remove     
1 Release wheel arch liner (1) from front fender (3). IMPORTANT Wheel arch liner (1) is bonded to front fender (3) and must be replaced after removal. Depending on the vehicle equipment, there may be multiple adhesive strips on the wheel arch liner (1).
SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge

2 Unclip wheel arch liner (1) from front bumper (2) and remove. Model 167
except code 772 (AMG styling - Front spoiler, side skirts)
except code M036 (Maybach version)

INSPECT Check     
3 Check fusible plugs (4) for damage. If there is a problem,

Remove the corresponding fusible plugs (4).

CLEAN Clean     
4 Remove adhesive residues from front fender (3) in cross-hatched area and clean bonding surface.

    NOTES
The bonding surface must not be touched with bare fingers and must be free of dust, oil, grease, wax, dirt residues, and other adhesive components.
Otherwise the strength of the adhesive connection can be impaired and proper adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
IMPORTANT Observe air drying time for cleaning agent.
Cleaner

INSTALLING Install     
5 Treat bonding area on front fender (3) in cross-hatched area with primer. Primer/3M (TM) adhesion promoter 111 *BR00.45-Z-1145-02A 
6 Install corresponding fusible plugs (4). If fusible plugs are damaged (4) or after replacing the front fender (3). AR88.80-P-0008-01ME 
    White sealing compound, 310 ml, DBL 6069.20 *BR00.45-Z-1003-01A 
7 Remove protective foil (5) of adhesive strip on new wheel arch liner (1). IMPORTANT Depending on the vehicle equipment, there may be multiple adhesive strips on the wheel arch liner (1).  
8 Clip wheel arch liner (1) into front bumper (2). Model 167
except code 772 (AMG styling - Front spoiler, side skirts)
except code M036 (Maybach version)
 
9 Position wheel arch liner (1) with pins (6) on fusible plugs (4) and press on. IMPORTANT Ensure that pins (6) snap into fusible plugs (4).
IMPORTANT When pressing on, the pressure (min. 10 N/cm2 ) must be applied directly to the entire length of the adhesive strip on the wheel arch liner (1).
IMPORTANT The adhesive strip reaches the required strength after approx. 20 min.
IMPORTANT Depending on the vehicle equipment, there may be multiple adhesive strips on the wheel arch liner (1).
