Remove/Install Additional Compressor - AR09.50-P-4770MSC

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. AS20.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove charge air line from check valve to throttle valve actuator (M16/6). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Only install upper engine cover after the leak test. AR09.41-P-8951MSC 
2 Remove screw/bolts (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, oil feed line to *BA09.40-P-1006-02MRT 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, feed line/return line to additional compressor *BA09.50-P-1002-02MRT 
3 Remove coolant return line (4r) and coolant feed pipe (4v) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace sealing rings and coat with lubricant.

4 Release and disconnect electrical connector (2), unclip electric line.    
5 Release and disconnect electrical connector (12) and unclip electric line of electric refrigerant compressor (A9/5) from bracket (13).    
6 Remove bracket (13). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, charge air distributor support to crankcase *BA09.41-P-1015-01MRT 
7 Remove screw (7) and charge air line (6) together with attached charge air hose. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace sealing ring and moisten with lubricant.

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, charge air line to additional compressor *BA09.41-P-1006-01MRT

8 Release screw clamp (10) and remove screw (9) at timing case. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw clamp, boot between charge air lines *BA09.41-P-1009-01MRT 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, charge air line to timing case *BA09.41-P-1004-01MRT 
9 Remove charge air line (5). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Install new boot (11).  
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace sealing ring and moisten with lubricant. Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A

10 Remove screws (8). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, additional compressor to crankcase *BA09.50-P-1001-02MRT 
11 Remove electric additional compressor (M60/1).    
12 Install in the reverse order.    
  Concluding tasks     
13 Connect vehicle diagnosis system, read out fault memory and clear if necessary.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMSS     AD00.00-P-2000-06ME
WARNING Risk of burn injuries,  suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
14 Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.    
15 Install upper engine cover.   AR01.10-P-2405MSC
