WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. AS20.00-Z-0001-01A

  Drain off     
1 Unscrew cap from coolant expansion reservoir carefully.    
2 Remove center and all front bottom engine compartment linings.   AR61.20-P-1105ME
3 Remove front section in the front right fender liner. Engine 256.9 in model 167 with code M016 (Uprated engine) AR88.10-P-1301ME
4 Remove coolant hose (6) from circulation pump and capture escaping coolant in a suitable container.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
5 Attach coolant hose (6) to circulation pump.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
6 Remove bleed line (7). Engine 256.9 in model 167 with code M016 (Uprated engine) AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
7 Remove coolant hose (1) from circulation pump and capture escaping coolant in a suitable container.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
8 Clamp off coolant hose (2). SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 5
9 Screw tester cap onto coolant expansion reservoir. SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 2
10 Attach pressure reducing valve to tester cap.    
11 Adjust pressure reducing valve to discharge pressure, drain coolant, and capture in a suitable container. Discharge pressure for cooling system coolant to pressure reducing valve *BE20.00-P-1001-01A 
12 Close pressure reducing valve if the engine cooling system is completely emptied.    
  Pour in     
13 Disconnect pressure reducing valve from tester cap.    
14 Remove clamping device from coolant hose (2). SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 5
15 Attach coolant hose (1) to circulation pump.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
16 Attach bleed line (7). Engine 256.9 in model 167 with code M016 (Uprated engine) AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
17 Pour in coolant and bleed engine cooling system.   AR20.00-P-1142-04OLC
    Test pressure for pressure-testing the engine cooling system *BE20.30-P-1005-01A

18 Check engine cooling system for leak tightness.   AR20.00-P-1010MSC
19 Install front section in front right fender liner. Engine 256.9 in model 167 with code M016 (Uprated engine) AR88.10-P-1301ME
20 Install center and all front bottom engine compartment linings.   AR61.20-P-1105ME
