| Remove | |||
| 1 | Deactivate running boards (1) via the head unit. | ||
| 2 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m). | ||
| 3 | Remove covers (2, 3). | Fig 1 | |
| 4 | Remove screw (6) until running board (1) can be extended manually. | ||
| 5 | Extend running board (1) manually. | ||
| 6 | Remove screws (7). | ||
| 7 | Detach running board (1) from mounting supports (4, 5) and remove. | ||
| 8 | Disconnect electrical connector (8). | ||
| 9 | Remove retaining clip (9). | Fig 1 | |
| 10 | Remove nuts (10) from mounting supports (4, 5). | ||
| 11 | Remove screws (11) on mounting supports (4, 5) and remove mounting supports (4, 5). | ||
| 12 | Remove drop bolts (12) from body. | ||
| Install | |||
| 13 | Position screws (11) on mounting supports (4, 5) and install drop bolts (12) vertically, as shown. | ||
| 14 | Install mounting supports (4, 5) together with screws (11) and drop bolts (12). | ||
| 15 | Position suitable assembly tool for screws nuts on screws (11) and tighten in joining direction, applying constant pressure. | ||

| 16 | Attach nuts (10). | ||
| 17 | Install retaining clip (9). | ||
| 18 | Connect electrical connector (8). | ||
| 19 | Insert running board (1) in mounting support (4, 5). | ||
| 20 | Position screws (7). | ||
| 21 | Retract running board (1) completely by and align in center. | ||
| 22 | Tighten bolts (7). | ||
| 23 | Tighten screw (6) while running board (1) retracted. | ||
| 24 | Install covers (2, 3). | ||
| 25 | Activate running boards (1) via the head unit. |
