Remove/Install Low-Temperature Circuit Expansion Reservoir - AR09.41-P-0001MNP

WARNING Risk of injury.  Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. AS20.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove upper engine cover.    
      AP01.10-P-2405-01E
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.  
2 Remove cap (2).    
3 Clamp off coolant hoses (3, 4). SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 3
4 Suction off the coolant out of the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1). FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02LA

5 Pull the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1) upwards out of the elastomer bearings. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Wet elastomer bearings with lubricant.  
    Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
6 Remove coolant hoses (3, 4) from the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1) and seal the opening on the coolant hose (3, 4) with a suitable stop plug.   AR09.41-P-1311-01AL 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 4
7 Remove the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1).    
8 Check the elastomer bearings of the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1) for damage. If there is a problem,

Replace relevant elastomer bearing(s).
 
9 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
10 Check the coolant level in the low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir (1) and correct it if necessary. FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02LA 
11 Perform a ventilation routine on the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).   AD00.00-P-2000-06ME
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMSS      
INSPECT Check     
12 Check low-temperature circuit for leak tightness.   AR09.41-P-1011MNP 
WARNING Risk of burn injuries,  suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
13 Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness
