Adjust Front Door - AR72.10-P-0550ME

INSPECT Check     
1 Check adjustment of left and right front doors (1).   AR60.00-P-0900-01ME
    IMPORTANT The contour of the front fender should be flush with the contour of the front door (1) or may protrude by a maximum of 1 mm.  
    Front door to rear door *BE60.00-P-1010-01LA 
    Front door to fender *BE60.00-P-1009-01LA 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 1
REMOVING Remove     
2 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
3 Remove screws (2) of lock striker (3) and remove lock striker (3).    
  Adjust on front door (1)     
4 Loosen screws (4 or 6) on hinge (5 or 7), adjust front door (1), and tighten screws (4 or 6) again.   AR60.00-P-0900-01ME
    NOTES
Do not loosen screws (4, 6) simultaneously. If the front door (1) comes into contact with other components, the paint can be damaged.
 
    NOTES
The hinges (5, 7) must not be placed under stress when adjusting.
Otherwise the hinges (5, 7) can be damaged.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, hinge to front door *BA72.10-P-1002-01O 
    Front door to rear door *BE60.00-P-1010-01LA 
    Front door to fender *BE60.00-P-1009-01LA 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge
If making adjustments via the screws (4, 6) on the hinges (5, 7) is not sufficient:

Adjust front door (1) on body.

5 Remove instrument panel.   AR68.10-P-1000ME
6 Remove front floor covering. Remove front floor covering on front passenger side AR68.80-P-0008ME
    Remove front floor covering on driver side AR68.80-P-0007ME
7 Unclip distributor box on left A-pillar or fuse box on right A-pillar and place to one side until the nuts (8) are accessible. NOTES
Do not crush or kink or subject lines to tension This will result in damage to the lines which may impair their functional capability.
 
8 Expose nuts (9) on A-pillar.    
9 Loosen nuts (8 or 9) on A-pillar only so far that the front door (1) can be adjusted; adjust the front door (1) and tighten nuts (8, 9) again.   AR60.00-P-0900-01ME
    NOTES
Do not loosen nuts (8, 9) simultaneously. If the front door (1) comes into contact with other components, the paint can be damaged.
NOTES
The hinges (5, 7) must not be placed under stress when adjusting.
Otherwise the hinges (5, 7) can be damaged.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt/nut, hinge to A-pillar *BA72.10-P-1003-01O 
    Front door to rear door *BE60.00-P-1010-01LA 
    Front door to fender *BE60.00-P-1009-01LA 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 1
10 Clip in distributor box on left A-pillar or fuse box on right A-pillar.    
11 Install instrument panel.   AR68.10-P-1000ME
12 Install front floor covering. Install front floor covering on front passenger side AR68.80-P-0008ME
    Install front floor covering on driver's side AR68.80-P-0007ME
INSTALLING Install     
13 Position lock striker (3) on B-pillar and screw in screws (2) up to stop. IMPORTANT It must still be possible to adjust the lock striker (3).  
14 Align lock striker (3) by carefully closing for door (1). IMPORTANT The contour of the front door (1) must be flush with the contour of the rear door or may protrude by a maximum of 1 mm.  
15 Tighten screws (2) of lock striker (3) on B-pillar. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, lock striker to B-pillar *BA72.10-P-1004-01O 
16 Repair paint damage at bolt heads of screws (4, 6). Overview of MB materials and how they are processed AR98.00-P-0150CW
DANGER Risk of explosion and poisoning  caused by solvent vapors and gasses. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes when working with anticorrosion agents Never spray corrosion protection on flames or hot, glowing objects and keep them well away from all potential sources of ignition. Use them only in well-ventilated rooms; wear respiratory protection. AS97.00-Z-0001-01A
17 Protect front door (1) and A-pillar in area of both hinges (5, 7) against corrosion; remove excessive wax. Wax for engine compartment (400 ml spray can) *BR00.45-Z-1018-05A 
  Concluding tasks     
18 Calibrate 360° camera for left outside mirror (B84/7) or 360° camera for right outside mirror (B84/8) using the vehicle diagnosis system.
