Remove/Install Additional Radiator - AR20.20-P-3866MNO

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain coolant of the engine cooling circuit.   AR20.00-P-1142MNO 
2 Remove right front wheel and tire assembly.   AR40.10-P-1102ME
3 Remove front section of the front right fender liner. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Do not install the front section of front right fender liner until after the leak test. AR88.10-P-1301ME
4 Remove front bumper. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install lower engine compartment paneling after leak test. AR88.20-P-2000ME
5 Remove nut (1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt/nut, wheel arch radiator to bracket *BA20.20-P-1003-01Q 
6 Unclip bleed line (2) and place to one side.    
7 Unclip electrical wiring harness from carrier (3). SPECIAL TOOL Dismantling tool Fig 2
8 Remove the coolant line (4) from the connecting point on the additional radiator (6). IMPORTANT Capture escaping coolant using suitable means. AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
9 Remove the coolant line (5) from the additional radiator (6). IMPORTANT Capture escaping coolant using suitable means. AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 
10 Pull the additional radiator (6) out of the stud bolt of the nut (1) and remove it from the bracket (7) with a suitable tool.    
11 Swivel the additional radiator (6) in the lower area to the rear and remove it. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Wet the elastomer bearings of the installation frame (8) with lubricant. Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
12 Check the elastomer bearings of the installation frame (8) for damage. If damage is present,

Replace the elastomer bearings of the installation frame (8).
 
13 Remove the air ducting (9) from the additional radiator (6). When installing new additional cooler (6).  
14 Remove the additional radiator (6) from the installation frame (8). When installing new additional cooler (6).  
15 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
16 Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
