Remove/Install 12 V On-Board Electrical System Battery - AR54.10-P-1134MFI

DANGER Risk of fire  /risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices.
Risk of death due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC.
No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking.
Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Confirm change of on-board electrical system battery (G1) using diagnosis system in signal acquisition and actuation module under Actuation menu item. When replacing the on-board electrical system battery (G1).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06MFA
    IMPORTANT This updates the charging characteristic for the on-board electrical system battery (G1).  
2 Place DC/DC converter for 48 V on-board electrical system with connected lines to one side.   AR54.10-P-1351MFA 
3 Remove pre-fuse box at on-board electrical system battery (G1) and place to one side with connected lines.   AR54.15-P-1353MFA 
4 Disconnect vent hose (1) from on-board electrical system battery (G1). INSTALLATION NOTES
Check that vent hose (1) is correctly seated. Otherwise leaking battery vapor may damage the vehicle.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
5 Remove cover (2) over positive terminal.    
6 Disconnect positive line (3) of on-board electrical system battery (G1) and remove from on-board electrical system battery (G1) using jump-start connection point (4). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, current limiter to battery terminal *BA54.10-P-1007-01D 
7 Remove nut (5) and release tensioning strap (6). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, mounting rail to battery frame *BA54.10-P-1003-01D 
8 Place tensioning strap (6) to one side and remove on-board electrical system battery (G1) upward.    
9 Install in the reverse order.
