The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.
- Expose spot welds on connecting panel (2) and cut off (areas A1 , A2 , B1 , B2 , C).
- Remove connecting panel (2).
- Expose spot welds on outer rear wheel well (1) and cut off (areas D, E1
, E2
, F, G, H).
Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut off through two panel thicknesses.
- Expose spot welds on outer rear wheel well (1) from inside and cut off (area I).
- Expose spot weld on outer rear wheel well (1) expose and drill through with Ø 6.5 mm (area J).
- Expose spot welds on outer rear wheel well (1) and cut off (areas K, L).
- Expose spot weld on outer rear wheel well (1) and drill through with Ø 6.5 mm (area M).
- Heat the outer rear wheel well (1) in the cross-hatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Take off the outer rear wheel well (1).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas N1 , N2 , N3 ).
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
