| 1 | Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery. | AR54.10-P-0003MFA | |
| 2 | Remove lower instrument panel trim on driver's side. | AR68.10-P-1501MFA | |
| 3 | Unscrew screws (2) and remove driver knee airbag (1) far enough until electrical connector (3) is accessible. | This will result in damage to the electric lines and can impair their function. |

| 4 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (3) from driver knee airbag squib (R12/25). | Fig 2 | |
| 5 | Remove driver knee airbag (1) and place on a suitable surface. | ||
| 6 | Install in the reverse order. | ||

| 7 | Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) using vehicle diagnosis system. | When replacing the driver knee airbag (1). | |
