Basic Function Of Signal Acquisition And Actuation Module - GF54.21-P-9895A
Model 118, 177, 243, 247, 464
Overview
This document contains information on:
- General
- Function
General
Various control units, sensors, switch groups and actuators are networked with the signal acquisition and actuation module. The signal acquisition and actuation module is connected to the network architecture of the vehicle. It controls various functions, e.g.:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Controlling functions
- Actuation of components
- Switching of relays
- Sending signals
Function
The signal acquisition and actuation module processes the signals from various sensors and evaluates the following, among other things:
- State of charge of on-board electrical system battery
- Fill levels for individual workshop equipment, e.g. brake fluid, washer fluid
- Control requests, e.g. for interior and exterior lighting and the windshield wiper system
The signal acquisition and actuation module combines the controls of various functions. The individual controls evaluate the input information and actuate corresponding actuators.
Depending on the model and equipment installed, the signal acquisition and actuation module controls the following functions:
- Energy management
- Exterior lights
- Interior illumination
- Rear window heater
- Central locking system for trunk lid and fuel filler flap or socket flap (except off-road vehicles)
- Windshield wiper system
- Wiper park heater
- Washer fluid hose and nozzle heating (vehicles with heated washer fluid system)
- Fanfare horns
- Climate control
- Camera cover control for camera in rear end (vehicles with parking system)
- Anti-theft alarm system (ATA) (vehicles with anti-theft alarm system)
To implement these functions, the signal acquisition and actuation module processes, among other things, the following information:
- Status of circuit 15, circuit 50
- Vehicle speed
- Operating requests
- Engine management, drivetrain status information
- Brake system status information
- Reverse gear status information
- LED headlamp control status information (vehicles with LED headlamps)
- System requirements, e.g. to switch on the exterior lights or for visual feedback of central locking
- ECO start-stop function status information (except electric vehicles and off-road vehicles)
- Driver assistance systems status information
- PRE-SAFE® status information (vehicles with PRE-SAFE® occupant protection system)
- Seat belt status information
- Information on a crash event
- Central locking system status information
- Door status
- State of charge of on-board electrical system battery
- Alternator management status information (except electric vehicles)
- 48 V on-board electrical system status information (vehicles with 48 V onboard electrical system)
- High-voltage on-board electrical system status information (hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles)
- Seat adjustment status information (vehicles with electric seat adjustment)
- Location information (vehicles with navigation system)
- Climate control status information (depending on model)
Which particular information ultimately initiates corresponding system reactions is available in the relevant function descriptions and function schematics.
