The following operation steps are shown on model 177.0.
Insert set of spacer blocks at undamaged side of roof duct between rear roof paneling (1) and side roof paneling and adjust to dimension.
During installation, fit rear roof paneling (1) with adjusted
- Mark positions on vehicle and write down dimensions of the
- Expose spot welds at rear roof paneling (1) and cut off (areas A, B and C.
- Heat rear roof paneling (1) in cross-hatched areas (areas H).
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove rear roof paneling (1).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas (areas E, F).
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas F).
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
