| Remove | |||
| 1 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m). | ||
| 2 | Disassemble handle upper parts (2b) at the disassembly openings of the handles (2) from the handle lower parts (2a) and remove. | ||
| 3 | Remove clips (4) using suitable tool and remove handle lower parts (2a). | ||
| 4 | Unclip bottom liftgate trim (1) starting from the bottom area and remove until the electrical connectors are accessible. | Fig 1 | |
| 5 | Release and disconnect electrical connectors and remove bottom liftgate trim (1). | ||
| Check | |||
| 6 | Check clips (4) for damage and correct seating. | If any problems are found, ↓ replace clips (4). |

| 7 | Check catch hooks of bottom liftgate trim (1) for damage. | If any problems are found, ↓ replace bottom liftgate trim (1). |

| Install | |||
| 8 | Install clips (4) in handle lower parts (2a). | Engagement lugs (arrow B) of clips (4) must enclose handle lower parts (2a). Incorrectly engaged clips (4) will result in a risk of injury during opening and closing. |

| 9 | Assemble handle upper part (2b) and handle lower part (2a). | ||
| 10 | Connect electrical connectors, position bottom liftgate trim (1) on the liftgate, and clip on starting from the top area. | ||
| 11 | Install handles (2). | ||
| Check | |||
| 12 | Check that handles (2) are tightly seated on the bottom liftgate trim (1). | The tight seating of the handles (2) must be ensured. Incorrectly engaged clips (4) will result in a risk of injury during opening and closing. |
