Interior illumination
The interior lighting of the new CLA-Class is divided into standard equipment and different special equipment.
The standard equipment includes the following light sources:
- Lamps in the overhead control panel
- Rear compartment lamp in roof lining
- Luggage compartment lamp
- Glove box lamp
The special equipment offers different lighting concepts in which the illumination of the vehicle interior can be individually designed. The colors and light stagings awaken emotions and create a pleasant atmosphere. Solely energy-saving LEDs are used as the light sources.
With code U62 (Light and Sight package)
The Light and Sight package includes the following light sources in addition to the standard scope:
- Indirect illumination of door handles of front and rear doors
- Front footwell lighting
- Illuminated vanity mirrors for driver and front passenger
- Inside rearview mirror with non-dazzle reading lamps
- Illumination of stowage compartment/cup holders in center console
- Exit and warning lamps in driver and front passenger doors
- Signal and ambient lamp on tailgate
With CODE 877 (Ambiance illumination)
With the ambient lighting, 64 light colors are also available that can be created by mixing the primary colors red, green and blue. The used LEDs are provided with three chips for this purpose that are accordingly actuated. In addition to the 64 light colors, 10 so-called color worlds are offered in which the vehicle interior is illuminated with multiple coordinated light colors. The color world can in turn be combined with the available display styles so that an harmonious overall impression is created. Light effects are added to this that can be individually activated. These include a light effect in the air vents when adjusting the climate control, a welcome effect and a DYNAMIC SELECT effect. The brightness can be configured in three brightness zones in the stages 0 to 10.
Particularly noteworthy here is the further developed integration and layout of the ambient lighting in the vehicle interior. This new type of ambient lighting can in particular be experienced in the transition area between the upper and lower sections of the instrument panel due to a combination of indirect and direct illumination. One of the highlights is the illumination of the interior of the air vents so that they give the impression of a jet engine. The free standing Widescreen Cockpit as well as the center console are also integrated in the ambient lighting.
