	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. 	Check
1	Warm up engine.
2	Check engine oil temperature.
		The engine oil temperature must be at least 100°C.	AD00.00-P-2000-06MFA
3	Check oil level of the engine approx. 5 min after switching off the engine at operating temperature and correct if necessary.	Engine 139 in model 118, 177, 247
		Engine 139 in model 118, 177, 247 Vehicle must be horizontal and standing on its wheels. If the vehicle is not on a level surface, measurements will be incorrect.	AP18.00-P-1812AKI
	Remove
4	Remove bottom engine compartment lining.		AR61.20-P-1105MFR
5	Unscrew drain screw (1) from oil filter housing (2).	Capture escaping engine oil in a suitable container.
6	Connect adapter of the oil pressure tester to the drain screw (1) of the oil filter housing (2).	Oil pressure tester	Fig 1
	Check
7	Start engine and measure oil pressure.	Position oil pressure test equipment such that it is not caught by the poly-V-belt when starting the engine. Otherwise, damage to the oil pressure tester and poly-V-belt can occur. Measure oil pressure at the engine operating temperature. Aid of helper required. In the event of an rpm increase, the oil pressure must increase without delay. Oil pressure at operating temperature 90°C	*BE18.00-P-1001-01K
	Install
8	Disconnect adapter of the oil pressure tester to the drain screw (1) of the oil filter housing (2).	Capture escaping engine oil in a suitable container. Oil pressure tester	Fig 1
9	Tighten drain screw (1) on oil filter housing (2).	Replace sealing ring. Clean area around drain screw (1). Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
10	Check oil level of the engine approx. 5 min after switching off the engine at operating temperature and correct if necessary.	Engine 139 in model 118, 177, 247
		Engine 139 in model 118, 177 Park vehicle horizontally. If the wheels of the vehicle are not horizontal, measurements will be incorrect.	AP18.00-P-1812AKI
11	Carry out engine test run and check engine for leak tightness.
12	Install lower engine compartment lining.		AR61.20-P-1105MFR
